Scholarship and Grants
All privileges are applicable only during the 1st and 2nd Semesters, subject to renewal every term.

  1. SCHOLARSHIP
    1. Entrance Scholarships
      High School Valedictorians and Salutatorians are entitled to one year and one semester free tuition respectively, upon admission to the college level. They should submit a certification duly signed by their principal stating that they are valedictorians/salutatorians of a graduating class of at least 15 students during a particular school year.
    2. Resident/Academic Scholarships
      For all Collegiate Programs/Courses, students carrying 15 academic units or more, who obtain a weighted average of 1.0 to 1.5 with no grade lower than 2.0 are awarded free tuition in the following semester.

      For Engineering, including BS MarE and BSA, those who obtain a weighted average of 1.6 to 2.0 with no grade lower than 2.5 are awarded half-semester tuition in the following semester.

      For Non-Engineering, AB English, BS Biology and BSBA, those who obtain a weighted average of 1.6 to 2.0 with no grade lower than 2.0 are awarded half-semester tuition in the following semester.

      The Dean’s Office initiates the processing of this scholarship. Qualified students must see their Dean before enrollment. Grades in the final examination permit should tally with the official grades submitted to the Registrar’s Office.
    3. Other Scholarships
      1. Athletic Scholarships
        For all Sports represented in the PRISAA, ISSA, except for Table Tennis & Chess which are subject to the result of performance, the athlete should have no failing grade and be recommended by the Coach to the Athletic Director for approval. Deadline of application for athletic scholarship – 30 days from 1st day of enrollment.
      2. Poor-But-Deserving Student (PBDS)
        Preferably for incoming freshmen, the student should have no failing grades and be recommended by the Dean to the President for approval. Application for this privilege is renewable every semester. Forms are available at the Dean’s Office. Qualified students enjoy Free Tuition or Free Half Tuition at the discretion of the President.
        New applicants:
        1. Open to all High School graduates
        2. Submission of PBDS Forms duly recommended by the Department Head/Dean
        3. Photocopy of Form 138 (High School Report Card) or F137-A (Secondary Student’s Permanent Record)
        4. Income Tax of Parent or Certificate of Tax Exemption from the BIR
        5. Renewable every semester
        Renewal:
        1. Submission of PBDS Forms duly recommended by the Department Head/Dean
        2. No Failing grade. Report of College ratings shall be duly signed by the Registrar
      3. Government Scholarships
        Subsidized by CHED, PESFA (Private Education Student Financial Assistance Program), SNPL (Study Now Pay Later), SSP (State Scholarship Program) , NISGP and SEAGEAP, City Government 30 STUDENT MANUAL Scholarship (City Mayor’s Office, Phil. Veterans Affairs Office, Armed Forces of the Phil.), DOST( Department of Science and Technology).
      4. Student Assistantship Program (SAP)
        The Student Assistant must have no failing grade and be recommended by the corresponding Office/Department Head to the Comptroller for approval. Applicants must pass a qualifying exam given by the Coordinator, Student Assistantship Program. Student assistants are credited for every hour’s work.
        New:
        1. Passed the Student Assistance Program Qualifying Exams, and submission of:
          1. Application Letter
          2. Form 138/ Transcript of Records/Report of College Ratings
          3. Income Tax Return of Parent or Certification of Tax Exemption from the BIR
        2. Submission of Student Assistant Privilege Form duly recommended by the Department Head.
        3. Renewable every semester.
        4. No Failing grades. Report of College ratings shall be duly signed by the Registrar.
        5. Submit Daily Time Record (DTR) monthly, duly signed by Department Head/Dean/Office Head.

  2. DISCOUNTS (Renewable every semester within the 30-day period from the 1st day of enrollment. Forms are available at the Accounting Department).
    1. Tuition Discount on Full Payment of School Fees
      10% Discount on Tuition only for full payment of total current assessment upon enrollment. A 10% discount on Tuition Fees is given to students who pay in full within 30 days from the first day of enrollment. To avail himself of the discount, the student must accomplish the Cash Discount Form from the Accounting Department.
    2. Stockholder’s Discount
      Free tuition privilege is given to the stockholder and or his children, owning at least 100 shares of Western Institute of Technology, Inc. Capital Stock prior to/or at 1986 acquisition. Application forms are available at the Accounting Department which determines the discount.
    3. Family Discount
      Requires photocopies of NSO birth certificates of concerned students.

      2 brothers/sisters enrolled – 10% discount on the lower tuition assessment
      3 brothers/sisters enrolled – 30% discount on the lowest tuition assessment, 10 % on the 2nd lowest tuition assessment
      4 or more enrolled- 50% discount on the lowest tuition assessment, 30% discount on the 2nd lowest tuition assessment, 10% discount on the 3rd lowest tuition assessment
    4. Employees Discount
      Resolution No. 20, s. 1998 grants scholarship to full-time employees of W.I.T., their spouse and children studying at W.I.T., as follows:
      1. 50% tuition discount- for employees with less than two years of service.
      2. Free tuition and laboratory fees – for employees with two or more years of service.
      Subject to the requirements for non-academic scholarship, tuition and laboratory fees of courses/subjects with failing grades shall be paid by the student.
